The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Cultural Affairs Assistant Media Coordinator/Educational Advisor) for Public Affairs/Cultural Affairs Section.

Administrative Assistant
Basic Function of Position :
  • The incumbent serves as the principal administrative assistant to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) section with responsibility for planning and executing the administrative management functions of a complex Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

  • Must have at least three years progressively responsible experience in administrative management.

Guard (Watchman)
Basic Function of Position :
  • The incumbent performs routine watchman services to safeguard compound/residence of official U.S. Government employees.
Qualifications :

  • Three years working experience in a combination or one of the following areas: military, policy, security, customer service, or general work is required.

Shipment Coordinator
Basic Function of Position :
  • The incumbent is responsible to facilitate the importation, free entry, customs clearance, release and delivery of OBO and Contractor air and sea official shipments to post in support of multi-million dollar construction contracts for the NEC project and any other tasks as deemed by the OBO Project Director.
Qualifications :

  • University degree (S1) in Transportation Management, Business or Administration is required.
  • Must have at least two years administrative or government experience in shipping or transportation.

  • Must be familiar with the Indonesian government’s policies, and diplomatic privileges, Indonesian customs and traffic code, customs requirements and procedure for importation and exportation of good shipments.
  • Must have strong skills in office computer software as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate small vehicles; Indonesian type-A driver’s license (SIM A) is required – A copy must be attached to the application. Driving skill will be tested.

Guard
Basic Function of Position :
  • The incumbent provides protection for the US government employees, visitors, facilities and equipment from violent attacks, demonstrations, intruders, and theft. Conducts inspection focusing on access control at all USG controlled/managed properties, facilities and residences administered by the Embassy. To respond and assist with routine and emergency occurrences at all USG controlled / managed properties to ensure that no situations exist, which threatens the safety or security of Mission employees or properties.

  • Must have strong understanding of all written and verbal guidance related to operating communication, alarm, access control, inspection and screening equipment.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively, and be reliable, dependable, firm, courteous and tactful. Must be able to comprehend orders and directives quickly. Must be able to carry out daily duties and take clear and decisive actions based on training, guard orders and other written and verbal instruction and guidance, especially during e emergency situations. Must be able for 48 hours workweek schedule.

Security Investigator
Basic Function of Position :
  • The incumbent is responsible for conducting investigations of passport fraud, visa fraud, alien smuggling, human trafficking and other criminal actions that impact the national security of the United States. Incumbent builds and maintains relationships with middle to high level contacts in the Indonesian National Police (INP), Immigration, Indonesian Attorney General's Office (IAGO) and other Government of Indonesia (GOI) agencies. The incumbent reports directly to the Senior Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) and is responsible for supervising other Locally Engaged Staff (LES) when they are involved in supporting Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) criminal investigations.
  • The incumbent is also responsible for conducting other RSO related work as assigned by RSO.
Qualifications :

  • University graduate in police or military or law is required.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience in the fraud prevention, investigative, or prosecutorial fields, or working in a Consular section.
  • Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing in English and level 4 (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in Indonesian language are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Knowledgeable of the visa procedures, criminal investigative and security procedures, interviewing techniques, understanding of how Indonesian law applies to document fraud, alien smuggling and human trafficking.
  • Expert knowledge of computer software programs. Must have the ability to perform a wide range of differing tasks/procedures using a range of equipment and/or techniques, should be very competent at communicating and relaying information as appropriate, both orally and written. The incumbent will also be expected to be very comfortable providing simple to moderately complex explanations of problems or critical information in the workplace. These explanations must be able to be delivered in both English and Indonesian language. The incumbent must be able to translate during meetings from English to Indonesian language, and vice versa. Must be available for emergency work situations on a 24 hour a day basis. Incumbent must have an understanding of budgeting and be able to prepare training materials.
